Lady D
Lady D started her raving journey in the 90s, and by 2000, she was behind the decks, sporting a skinhead and spinning DnB and chill-out sets across the North-West of England. An old-school soul and funk vinyl lover, she is extremely proud of her record collection, a true reflection of her musical roots. By day Lady D is a mental health nurse educator and over the past few years she has facilitated DJ workshops for women at The Wee Treat. Over the years, Lady D has retired from DJing twice, but as luck (and perhaps a bit of fate) would have it, she’s back in the game — and loving it. In 2025, she’s found herself getting gigs again, thanks to a happy blend of HRT and an epic 18-hour inspiring bender at the Dunedin Winter Solstice. After embracing the digital music world three years ago, Lady D expanded her repertoire and now mixes up Nu-Disco and Funky House sets and has recently ventured into the infectious rhythms of Afro House. Whatever she plays, her sets are always filled with soulful vocals and joyful, uplifting melodies — designed to get everyone grooving on the dance floor
